About

Aaron was born in Burlington and studied Graphic Design in Owen Sound under Peter Miehm, Bill Bailey, Hans Albarda, and Maggie Mitchell. After graduation he moved to Hamilton and was influenced by Philip Grant, Jesse Lee Wolter, Crow Eddy, and Christopher Hartnett. Aaron spent fifteen years working in Saskatoon before relocating to Calgary. His most recent works relate to early surrealism and the work of the mid-century artists known as Les Automatistes.

Aaron’s favourite’s include: Cezanne, Monet, Gauguin, Modigliani, Matisse, Picasso, Gorky, Baziotes, Rothko, Appel, Guston, Motherwell, Borduas, Molinari, Riopelle, Mitchell, Diebenkorn, Basquiat and Klunder.
